self-development is about utilizing (neural) plasticity
and plasticity manifests only under pressure

if there is no circumstantial change in your life-situation, the change has to be self-imposed
basically by taking action and adopting new habits (like going out and socializing more)

fight or flight

you leap into situations where you either sink or learn to swim

this is the first part of the growth process:
constantly breaking down the given (patterns), the familiar

the other part of growth is the anabolic phase, the building up
where you yield
where you allow the growth to happen

rest and digest

you give space for the neural system to consolidate the new action-induced experiences

all you gotta do is
take leaps
and then relax,

the body adapts
the mind adopts

your identity shifts
you change
