compound in the NOW

train yourself to go all the way within the moment
not beyond it,

switch off the mental projections and its trappings:
the mindset of all-or-nothing
embrace & own the contingency of the fleeting moment

we totally underestimate the power of the intermittent

it is so natural that once we feel excited by something
or by the presence of someone
we feel an urge to intensify it to the point of permanence

flirting with the thing/person is not enough
we want to go all the way beyond the moment
to secure it via some form of capture or purchase

for ex,
i know a girl who i engage for a couple of minutes every other saturday morning at the market, she excites me in a way and, in effect, there has been an evolving energy flow & polarity between us over the weeks, and i catch myself wanting more beyond the moment, getting overly caught up in the story & the specificity of us..
the same way, i train with a guy every friday and i am drawn to him for some reason, and i catch myself wanting more beyond the moment, to get to know each other more and have a chat over a tea or something..
of course,
there is nothing wrong with wanting more out of these interactions,
nay,
but
the problem starts, i think, the moment we let the unfolding story with all its social trappings (expectations, niceties, etc) dictate the process of our engagement
and thus inhibit that free energy flow between the two of us

props for all those, who can nurture a relationship within the moment
who can embrace the contingent and just trust the power of the intermittent

who can let go of the story and the desire that projects beyond the moment
and stay free-flowing
in the mode of expression
within the moment

who float and who glow
who keep their poise
who engage & stay unattached
