Word Up

You can’t get away with anything in life. All illusions end up in pain. Never mind what happens: respond rather than react. You see what you aim at. Your ego keeps the scope fuzzy. Aim at the truth. Stay with your deepest intent, bracket the noise. Allow what arises without indulging or personalizing it. Stay empty handed, congruent only to the truth of this moment. The only thing that you can give is your presence and the only thing you can get is presence in return. Stay loose, go with the given. Notice nuances. Don’t mind what happens. Roll with what gives. See where it goes.

Phase Shift

In the past you were open, geared towards the given: to what was coming into [this present moment of] your life in the form of people, relations, new things, new scenes, entranced—feeling orange—no matter what, adrift, drifting with abandon, engaging, and then, somewhere along the way, like each and every one of us, you fell for it, you started fixating on the missing: on what was falling and keeping away from you, you contracted melancholy, you became chronically blue and fear-full, prone to be anxiously grasping and gasping, drifting with worries. Sluggishness overtook, orange turned blue: You became a colder, more constipated you.

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has become the champion in 13 seconds

“No power, just precision.
No speed, just timing.
That’s all it takes.”

yes,
it’s poise over matter

here’s two of my favourite quotes by him:

(1)

do you ever regret anything you say?

“I just let it flow and whatever it is I say if I regret it I regret it
it is what it is
I certainly wouldn’t regret something like speaking the truth
the truth is the truth
can’t regret speaking the truth
you can’t apologize for that”

which reminds me of trash-talk
that champions like McGregor or Michael Jordan used to deploy or rather ‘let flow’

the tip of an ice-berg: real trash-talk is a side-effect of mental dominance,
which comes from a solid foundation of skills and ownership of one’s strength

people with poise take the game to a new level where it becomes a clash of minds and the only thing there is to lose is the truth of the moment

/incidentally, McGregor was masterful in the way he used social media to whip up the hype (what, in effect, attracted me and many others to UFC)

(2)

“when you tell someone the truth they react to it”

in my translation this says: when your transparency confronts someone with the truth they either surrender or resist

yes,
once you step beyond self-deception that’s when you step into your power which will polarize people

but the real punch comes once you understand that the someone your transparency confronts is none other than you

relax

amplify what you’d rather stifle

ease out of all self-imposed pressure

nothing is a big deal

there is nothing to lose

nothing is personal

if some people take their BS out on you it’s a fairly good indicator that you are on the right track

relax

instead of focusing on self-image (maintenance)
focus on your wobbles in response

get intimate with the ripples your insecurities trigger

ride these ripples, relax through them

discover your self

have fun

so long as you add value,
so long as you play with open cards,
you can do whatever you want and however you please

think & feel win-win
relate in the mode of play
jettison all heavy emotional baggage

it’s not upon you to take care of the emotional needs of others
you are not responsible for meeting the needs of anyone but yourself

let go
melt into it
relish the flesh of life
